I need to put the following text in the plot area of a graph I that created usinmg gtl layout overlay:

 I2 = 0.998  The I needs to be italicized and the 2 needs to be superscript.

I can get the 2 superscript using the code below, but I can't figure out how to put the I in italics without putting the whole string in italics.

How can I italicize only one letter of the text?

ENTRY 'I(*ESC*){unicode "00B2"x} = 0.998'/

TEXTATTRS = (SIZE = 8pt FAMILY= "Times New Roman")

AUTOALIGN = BOTTOMRIGHT);

You can break up your string to add or change  formatting information, like this:

ENTRY textattrs=(style=italic) 'I' textattrs=(style=normal) '(*ESC*){unicode "00B2"x} = 0.998' /
TEXTATTRS = (SIZE = 8pt FAMILY= "Times New Roman");

Hope this helps!
