I am trying to map data that falls into two categories. I have the ability to structure the data such that I can have the records for each category in one table with a response variable identifying the category, or i could keep the records in separate tables for each category. My goal is to map these records and assign a different scatter plot color to each category. Is this possible with the SGMAP procedure?

There doesn't appear to be a GROUP option. Instead, try setting it up as two variables and then use multiple SCATTER or TEXT statements.
