Has anyone had to use a web service or an API to write data to a mainframe dataset?

Can you provide more details on what you are trying to do and your architecture?

To start, is it a SAS Web Service or some other?  Do you plan to write to a Unix file on the mainframe?

The more details that you provide the greater the likelihood that someone can help.

Hi,

These are some screen shots of the architecture and details to connect, etc.

I could use some help on how to use this API.

Nothing is attached or shown. More details are needed as Vince points out. For example, REST/SOAP/other.

Before heading down a SAS road, use one of the off the shelf tools to test the APIs first. Postman, curl, SOAPUI, etc. Get it working there then get it to work in SAS. If you have not worked with web services before, download one of them and play with it first so you understand the concepts.

Hi @DaveSimmons

We'd be happy to assist in getting your API calls working. It appears that you missed attaching screen shots and additional info to your last post. Can you add those so we can assist further.

Thanks,
Joe
