Hi All,

I have a problem with show/hide rows in proc report by stored process.

I want to move the row below and above in the proc report. (like the following example )

Hi:

It looks to me like you don't really want to show/hide rows in PROC REPORT. To me, it looks like you want to add functionality in the browser, by implementing some type of Javascript code to expand and contract the rows once the output is opened in the browser. By default, neither PROC REPORT nor ODS will do this for you.

This is going to be a question for Tech Support. Whether your JavaScipt will work will depend on the client application that is going to execute the stored process -and- you will probably have to customize the data because normally, you could not "stack" one variable value on top of another variable value without data manipulation of the data. You might even have to generate your own HTML, but I'm not sure, which is why I suggested Tech Support.

Hi:

I don't believe you need help about "hide/show code" in PROC REPORT -- I don't know what you mean by "hide/show code" anyway. As I explained in my earlier post: "To me, it looks like you want to add functionality in the browser, by implementing some type of Javascript code to expand and contract the rows once the output is opened in the browser. By default, neither PROC REPORT nor ODS will do this for you." Javascript "belongs" to a web browser. Web browser output is created with ODS HTML or HTML-based destinations. If you want to add JavaScript into your HTML output, you need to

1) know what JavaScript you want to add

2) figure out WHERE the JavaScript needs to go in the HTML

3) figure out HOW to get the JavaScript where you need it to go (in the <HEAD> section of the HTML page; in the <TABLE>, etc, etc.)

These Tech Support examples show a few ways to insert JavaScript into ODS HTML output:

http://support.sas.com/kb/24/068.html

http://support.sas.com/kb/23/381.html

http://support.sas.com/kb/23/645.html

http://support.sas.com/kb/23/327.html

If you need more specific help with this question, then you may want to open a track with Tech Support. Since you have posted this in the Stored Process Forum, you will have to be very careful with your Stored Process output. There are only a few client applications that use HTML output from Stored Processes on the BI Platform. Tech Support can collect system information, client information and other information from you and make sure that you are on the right track.
