number of notifications

It's not really important, but the number of notification badges does not increase from 101. Does this mean it's 100+?

Also, when I open a link, or open another link, the number may decrease.
For example, right now it should be 101, but when I open another link, it is 83.

That's a lot of notifications! Yes, I seem to recall it's capped -- but not sure of the limit. The number will decrease as you visit/acknowledge them on the Notifications page. Note that private messages require you to go and "read" the message (or mark them read) before their number will decrease.

I wanted to try it once to see how far it would increase, but it hasn't increased since I reached 101 a while ago... so I posted it.

With the above intention, I dared not access the notification page, so it is not decreasing due to my access. And no private messages.
In fact, the number that decreased from 101 to 83 earlier is now back to 101 again, which makes me wonder.
