error start sas-viya-cascontroller-default : sas-viya-cascontroller-default.service start operation

Dear All,

This is the current timeout of SAS service:

systemctl show sas-viya-all-services.service | grep ^Timeout
TimeoutStartUSec=40min
TimeoutStopUSec=40min

We encounter the following error after we want to "systemctl start sas-viya-cascontroller-default" service after 5 minutes:

sas-viya-cascontroller-default.service start operation timed out. Terminating.

Failed to start LSB: SAS CAS Controller.

Unit sas-viya-cascontroller-default.service entered failed state.

sas-viya-cascontroller-default.service failed.

Please let me know how can I track and solve this problem.

Have you had a chance to check the CAS server logs in /opt/sas/viya/config/var/log/cas/default directory?

I solved the problem by the following link:

# /etc/init.d/sas-viya-all-services stop
# rm -f /opt/sas/viya/config/data/consul/checks/*
# /etc/init.d/sas-viya-all-services start
# /etc/init.d/sas-viya-all-services status
