Hello,

Here is my issue :

The company I'm working for is trying to deploy Positron Pro (so a fork of VSCode), to include more R in our processes, while keeping SAS (9 M8, with SAS Studio 3.8, on Windows Server, so SASApp, Metadata, ObjectSpawner) through the SAS Extension for VSCode.
The problem is that Positron Pro is running on Linux, and it seems that the only method connection method for the SAS Extension for VSCode on Linux is SSH, which has quite a lot of limitations... (according to this Capabilities by Connection Type | SAS Extension for Visual Studio Code Documentation)

Is there any way to make IOM work on Linux ?
I've heard of SASPy on Linux which would interface with IOM, but unsure if it is related to what I want to achieve or even applicable to the SAS Extension at all.

Thanks a lot in advance !

Lionel.

I think you have more luck to get in contact with the developers if you raise an issue in the GitHub Repo of the VSCode Extension: https://github.com/sassoftware/vscode-sas-extension/issues

Hi @lioneld1

Can you please clarify

  • Where does you your SAS 9.4 Server (SASApp, Metadata, Web-Tier) run?
    • Linux
    • Windows
  • Where do you plan to install Positron Pro IDE (Client)?
    • Linux
    • Windows
