Upcoming Changes to Kubernetes Ingress for SAS Viya 4 Deployments

In March 2026, Kubernetes will retire Ingress NGINX, which is used by SAS Viya 4 as a reverse proxy and load balancer. The component directs network traffic to workloads running on Kubernetes, routing traffic to the appropriate internal services based on rules, such as hostnames and URL paths. 

Since the announcement of the Ingress NGINX retirement, SAS began developing a strategy to adapt to this change. Before the end of 2025, we will provide next steps and recommendations on how our customers can deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters that host SAS Viya.
