We have recently installed and configured SAS Viya ,  this is a Linux installation and we are moving content for Visual Analytics 8.4

We are promoting all content from the SAS 9.4 and Visual Analytics 7.3 environment on Windows.

Two of the data files we need to move are somewhat large and I've just bumped into a limitation while 'importing' the data directly into the CAS library in Viya Enterprise Environment.

Has anyone experienced this limitation?  Is there a setting that would change this limit even temporarily?

Viya is very new to us and I'm not finding anything in the SAS documentation that mentions a possible setting for this.

Thanks for any advice.

Susanne

Hello Susanne @suzgauth,

check out this link https://blogs.sas.com/content/sgf/2017/06/13/the-self-service-import-in-sas-viya-3-2/

There is a setting, under CAS Management Service, sas.casmanagement.global, named max-file-size and another one named max-request-size. Beware of the following:

The local file importer has a 4GB limit because that is what the smallest size limit browser (Internet Explorer) is restricted to; however, Chrome and other browsers will allow larger file sizes, which is why there is a property that allows an Admin to set a higher limit. A modification to the max-file-size property requires a restart of thecasManagement service.

Thank you for your quick reply.  We are finding many instances where IE is not optimal for SAS VA in the VIya environment.

Success!

I found the setting in SAS Viya 8.4 in sas.casemanagement.  The parameter in Viya 8.4 is called fileUpload.

Thanks again for your help with this.
