Hi,

My requirement is to migrate the SAS Application running in Unix platform to Linx platform. It also has version upgrade from SAS 9.3 to 9.4.

This system mainly has ETL jobs/flows and SPD server with clustered tables. We need to migrate the entire data and also the metadata.

What is the best way to migrate the SAS BI content.  Can SAS Migration Utilities be used here as the Operating system is different in Source and Target platforms.?

What is the best way to copy the data lying in SPD server tables (clustered) from Source Unix to Target Linux platform?

Thanks,

Vijay.

A good place to start would be this migration site.  The SAS Migration Utility can be used to move from UNIX to Linux since it is within the same operating system "family" and is your best bet if you're trying to retain a good deal of configuration and metadata information as part of the migration.

I'm not a SPD expert, but there is some information on migrating SPD Server table data in the SPD Server Administrator's Guide, but it may not apply to your specific case, depending on SPD versions between the two deployments.
