Hi Communities,

I was wondering what is the difference of the Authentication between SASStudioV vs SASStudio.

On SASStudioV, I can login a local account and AD account (user@sample.com) while on SASStudio I can login only using the local account. The AD account is already configured on the Environment Manager, is there a separate configuration for SASStudio?

"SASStudioV" is "SAS Studio (Enterprise)" which provides functionality by relying on SAS Configuration Server, SAS Message Broker, SAS Infrastructure Data Server, and other microservices. For this reason, SAS Studio (Enterprise) is available only in full deployments of SAS Viya.  SAS Studio (Enterprise) authentication fully integrates with the features provided by SAS Logon Manager, and provides more authentication possibilities.

"SASStudio" is "SAS Studio (Basic)" is used in programming-only deployments. SAS Studio (Basic) is an embedded web application that does not rely on external services. Therefore, SAS Studio  (Basic) has relatively few dependencies, such as a SAS Object Spawner and SAS Workspace Server. SAS Studio Basic uses host authentication such as Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) and Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) to authenticate users.
