Dear All,

I am using SAS VA 7.4

I am trying out a visualization on SAS AV, but the dataset is huge. i need to calculate average since it will be used as a dynamic reference line on the graph. However since the dataset is huge, i want to display only the top 10%. This is not a problem for me, because i can rank the data using "rank" option in SAS VA.

The issue is with the Average calculation for the reference line. The average normally is calculated by considering all the data points. But in my case since im displaying only top 10% of the data, I need the average to be calculated only for those top 10% of the data points.

Can you please help me as to how i can calculate the average only the data which is "ranked"? Im unable to find a way to calculate the same.

Hoping for a quick resolution.

Thank you.

Hi Kiran,

Go to "properties" for the SAS VA report object and select "show totals" option. Then it will display sum of the data points for the measure which you are referring to.

Once you get Sum of the top 10% for that particular measure, right click on "sum" and then select "Aggregation" and in which you can see "average" option. Once you select average it will display top 10% average for the measure (data points).

Regards

Sandy
