Hi,
I need to know if PC Files Server must be installed in a server environment or a in client PC.
Best Regards
it a service process for windows, You can decide where it should run a client-pc or a win-server there is no big difference.
1/ As a client PC is normally shuts down and the person behind is leaving it would make sense you use that on a Win-server when needing for batch-scripts running on a Unix server.
2/ Having a 64-bit SAS installed with a 32-bit office version you can overcome that bitness by using PC Files Server on you desktop
Answer: it depends on the kind of problem you are trying to solve.

Just an FYI, the SAS PC Files Server now has separate documentation that is located under the SAS/ACCESS documentation page on the support site:
SAS 9.4 PC Files Server: Installation and Configuration Guide
Check it out for more information about bitness.
Susanj516, thanks for the refrenece. For some reason at the documentation page the lookup function fails (IE - Chrome - firefox)
Found it at: SAS(R) 9.4 PC Files Server: Installation and Configuration Guidehttp://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/acpcref/67382/HTML/default/viewer.htm#titlepage.htmby looking at all products indexed.
Thanks Jaap; I've corrected the link.
Are sas programs scheduled to run in batch.
Thanks a lot
