Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used SAS 9.4M5 (or just SAS 9.4) on a Windows or Linux Software RAID? Was there any issue? Did you get the performance gains that you expected? How has it impacted you CPU and memory usage?

Thanks in advance!

For Linux Red Hat did some investigation and publish a great paper on performance.

The CPU and memory overhead is small price to pay for more IO throughput. Your SAS users will thank you.

Thank you very much Simon! This the kind of document we were dreaming off about 8 years ago at one of my previous jobs 🙂
