Hi everybody,

I am a new member, i would like to install SAS 9.4 on Linux: debian 7.1. I met some issues to reach the deployment, but finally succeded.
Now, after having deployed all the item of my order, i can't find any binary file to launch SAS.
It's the first time i install SAS on Linux, and i don't get it.

Here's a '# ls -la' on my SASHome:

Hi,

I'm not familiar with SAS 9.4 and Debian 7.1 but we are running SAS 9.4 and RHEL 6 and that is just another flavour of the same thing.

In our SAS installation there is a "SAS Execution Script" named "sas" under /SASHome/SASFoundation/9.4.

Binaries are located under /SASHome/SASFoundation/9.4/sasexe.

Hi,

Okay, you just confirm there is a problem and missing file in my installation. I don't know why.
I checked once more in /SASHome/SASFoundation/9.4. There is not any "sas" file. And in ./sasexe there are many *.so files that can't be launched. (error: Segmentation error)

Well, thank you anyway Smiley Happy !

I've ween people who has this issue, but without any explanation and solution. I clearly don't know what to do except maybe installing lower version.

Hi again,

Now, i'm trying to install SAS 9.3 (didn't find any clue to resolve the problem above). But, unfortunatly, there is another issue: After having downloaded the SAS download manager, i make it executable, and then when i execute the file, nothing happen. Just it's written in console : "

Verifying archive integrity... All good.

Uncompressing SAS Download Manager 1.5 "

i did read this document : http://support.sas.com/demosdownloads/001062/readme_114146.tx      but, i can't see what's wrong.

If anyone have a clue, it would be so great, trust me Smiley Happy

Thanks.

SAS download manager has to connect to the SAS software download site, with the appropriate userid and password, plus the appropriate security settings on your server to make this happen. You are probably best off opening a track with SAS tech support as they will be able to guide you through the diagnostic steps to get your download connection working.
