Am trying to set up a libname connection to redshift on SAS 9.  I've created the database, set up the IAM rules, opened the inbound ports, installed the amazon drivers and updated the odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini

I am able to connect and run SQL from commandline using:

isql -v "redshift" awsuser mypass

However when I run in SAS Studio I get the following:

So the issue is somewhere here:

ERROR: CLI execute error: [

There's definitely something shifty going on.  If you've red this far, would appreciate some pointers!

Raise the issue with SAS Technical support.  If you are using the REDSHIFT engine then you are paying SAS for SAS/Access to Redshift so see if they can figure it out.

Do other statements work? Or is it just the CREATE TABLE statement that causes the error?

Hi @Allan1

May I know if you have found this root casuse of this issue.

I am also getting the same CLI error when I am trying to perform any action on SAS tables( which are refreshed from Redshift cluster).
