Hello everyone, I am new to SAS world.
I have a remote machine where SAS software has been installed using deployment plan "SAS Data Integration Server" from here: https://support.sas.com/downloads/package.htm?pid=1212#acc:false:
I need to install Data Integration Studio client on a local machine and connect to the remote machine where SAS servers are running. Is this possible? Where can I find the guide to accomplish this operation?
Yes, it is possible to connect to a remote sas server from a local data integration studio client. Check with your site admin if they have the sas client install package available ( usually this is a subset of the the complete sas installation package) , and make sure there are no firewalls blocking the sas metadata port ( default metadata port is 8561).
Thanks, I've used a custom deployment plan to install the clients on my local machine
Excellent, and this install contained the SAS DI software? If it did not, you can also install it separately on Install SAS FOundation and clients.
If you already have it, the last bit you need is to create a login profile in SAS DI, and have that user in the SAS metadata (server)
The SAS Users Group for Administrators (SUGA) is open to all SAS administrators and architects who install, update, manage or maintain a SAS deployment.
