Hi,

I never had a version of the SAS Providers for OLEDB or SAS Drivers for ODBC installed before on my laptop.

I tried to install the SAS Providers for OLEDB software on my Windows 10 (64-bit) / MS-Office (32-bit) laptop.

There is not much guidance on applying the 32-bit version (Because of MS Office), or the 64-bit version (Because of Windows).

For both software versions the install process failed stating that the SAS Software was incompatible with my system.

Photo shows the software versions I tried to install.

I then tried the ODBC Drivers for SAS. And again I tried both versions shown on the photo below:

Both versions show in the SAS Deployment wizard  the error as shown on the photo. As soon as you click the OK button in the message the installation fails and stops.

The error message shown states:

"You've attempted to install software intended for one operating system on a machine using a different operating system. You should either install on a machine using the operating system you downloaded for or return to the download site and download the appropriate software for your operating system."

Now I'm completely lost. I believe to have downloaded software for my operating system, so none of the two possible situations described in the error message apply.

Does anyone have a clue about the root cause of this problem and how to get it fixed?

Looks like you may be using an older version.  Check out the SAS Providers for OLEDB here.  I know that this version includes a fix which addressed a symptom like the one you're reporting.  There's a newer version of SAS Drivers for ODBC here.  You should be installing the 64-bit version to match your OS.
