Hello,

I have a requirement to limit the locator membership ports from 1024-1524 for gemfire communication for obvious reasons and I followed the below documentation to update it on both Compute and midtier machines but still gemfire is taking original configuration and taking old membership ports i.e 40000 to 50000

https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/bicdc/9.4/bimtag/n1dvn134xe84k0n1j14o0k534kv5.htm#p0g3dpxl1ngbi...

Could you suggest for any additional steps I should be taking care of??.

PS : I am installing 9.4 M8 on windows

I suggest you open a support request: https://www.sas.com/en_us/contact/technical-support.geo.html
You'll have explain exactly what you have done and provide the server logfiles. If the installation at your site was done SAS consultants an installation report should be avaialable. If you can supply that as well SAS tech support will provide a solution for you.

Does the information in this note https://support.sas.com/kb/52/670.html help?

no, this is the different scenario, we are only trying to limit the ports, DNS is fine for us.

Thank you!. I have received the required info/documentation from SAS Tech to re-configure the system for adjusting the ports.

This may or may not affect your challenge, but Gemfire is no longer used in 9.4M8. It was replaced by Geode. See https://communities.sas.com/t5/Administration-and-Deployment/SAS-9-4-M8-is-now-available/td-p/856447

Cheers Jan.
