Hi,

Can somebody suggest, how to find the current authentication protocol we are using (SAS 9.4 M6 on Linux/RedHat 7.9 ).

Authentication in SAS 9.4 typically occurs through PAM for Metadata and application servers (e.g. workspace server), so you can look at /etc/pam.d/sasauth to see what modules are being engaged.
