Hi team,

I have SAS 9.4M4 VA on a single Windows 2008 server.

I need to change the password for the sasevdb user. How do I do this ?

Can this be done with the SDM ? What about the Postgres password ?

Thanks,

Hello @nhvdwalt,

yes, all the SAS account password should be changed with the SAS Deployment Manager. Every single one that is part of the deployment. After this is done, you need to restart the environment.

This is the general rule. Eventually, there could be some additional configuration file missing from this change (so you would need a grep utility, but on every maintenance more files are being handled by the SDM Change password tool.

Anyway, just with the SDM should be enough for putting the system to be working again. My suggestion about gre utility is focused on the longer term, for migrations and other big changes on the deployment, and it is being required less and less.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Out of interest, how does the SDM change passwords in Postgres ?
