A different kind of “3 things” for SAS admins: November 2018

I’m going to do something a little different this month. I usually share three things with you, but this month I am asking YOU for three things. I head up the group that brings you the SUGA webinars. We’re trying to pick some topics for next year, and I’d like your input. Of the list below, which three topics would you like to see us present?

• Containers.
• Command Line Interface.
• Hybrid environment of SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya – an architectural point of view.
• Tips for architecting your hardware to run SAS.
• Global Forum Wrap-Up by Mark Schneider.
• Viya vs. Grid vs. SAS Platform (show the similarities and differences in things that work better in Grid and others that work better in Viya).
• Top 10 Tasks for Grid - day by day.

Or, do you have other topics in mind? Please share your thoughts. These webinars are for you!

Thank you for checking in with us.  I really love the previous Top 10 for Viya Administrators and the video explaining some of the differences between SAS 9.4 and Sas Viya implementation of Visual Analytics.

I don't personally qualify as a SAS admin, but I'd be inclined to agree with @suzgauth's list, and I would definitely forward on webinar invites around!

I can agree with previous comments by @suzgauth and @paulkaefer. My preferences would be:

• Tips for architecting your hardware to run SAS + SAS GRID + SAS Viya (specially in the clouds such as AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle). An updated version. (Margaret Crevar / Tony Brown? )
• Security in SAS Viya, update on best practices, procedures, experiences at customers, etc (David Stern?)
• Containers (perhaps a follow up to the one provided by Mark in Toronto, the next level).
