Even though I didn't solve the issue, I wanted to let you know that I got SAS to work. I tried re-downloading both SAS and VirtualBox, both didn't work. I then uninstalled VirtualBox and instead downloaded VMWare, after which I got SAS University Edition to work as it should.   Not sure what went wrong with VirtualBox though. I did find out that SAS apparently needed an update, but when I tried to update, it somehow didn't work (even though I had only just downloaded the most recent SAS file).
