Hello Community. I've been wondering how to run sas ondemand for academics from my local. Let's assume we have licenced a sas local machine with sas connect among their licensed products. If you run a proc setinit in sas ondemand for academic you'll see that sas connect is also licensed in this educational sas server. Having said that, my question is, what would be the correct statement to submit from my local machine, I have tried this to no avail: %let OnDemand = hostname.domain.com 8561; %let myusername = myusername; options remote = &OnDemand comamid = tcp; signon OnDemand user = &myusername password = "mypassword"; rsubmit; endrsubmit; signoff OnDemand; First, What I would like to know is if the program is correct, and second, what would be the exact hostname.domain.com. When you configure SAS Enterprise Guide On Demand for Academics, the remote hostname is odaomr.oda.sas.com with port 8561, but this does not work from my SAS script. Thank you all!!!

Hell@, I've been wondering how do I update SAS Private JRE, since there are new updates of the product, following the instructions: http://support.sas.com/kb/56/203.html I've managed to download the correspnding version in : https://support.sas.com/downloads/browse.htm?fil=&cat=556 But my question is, what comes after that, is it need to be done through SAS Deployment Manager or I replace the zip file content in SASPrivateJavaRuntimeEnvironment at SASHome? Thanks for your help

I have been trying to run SASPY as SAS client to a remote connection to no avail, the thing is, Let's suppose machine X has SAS installed and running, I'm working on my local Y which doesn't have SAS installed but has SASPY package installed, so, is there anyhow to connect Y local machine with SASPY to X SAS machine in order to submit SAS tasks with SASPY in my local but is actually been executed in X machine SAS Server, so my local computer is a client basically? Hello everyone Once again I need your help in order to sort out an issue that I have been a few days stuck. I currently work with SAS EG in my local machine with Windows 7 and every SAS task I perform is actually carried out in a SAS Server (SASApp: SUSE Linux OS). The thing is that I need to export sas tables from this SASApp Server (Linux) to another network connected windows host (with windows) which does not have SAS installed. It happens kind of the same to me in my local PC, at the time of importing a specific range from an excel sheet. PROC IMPORT DATAFILE="..." OUT=work.SHEET DBMS=XLSX REPLACE; GETNAMES=YES; RANGE="SHEET$RANGE"; RUN; ERROR: DBMS type XLSX not valid for export However, if I switch connection to SASApp Server and upload the file into a server path, it works fine. I think this post has been correctly answer previously, since in SASApp: PROC PRODUCT_STATUS; RUN; among the products returned is. For SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files ... Custom version information: 9.3_M2 which in my case, is not supported for Local

Hello back, about AWS, I think I have seen somewhere that it can be done via FTP, you're 100% right, I knew that I just don't remember because I used it occasionally, the thing is that SAS onDemand support so much more "SAS modules (like SAS OR)" that SAS UE does not, not even in AWS. On the other hand, If you have tried proc like IML in SAS OnDemand, you will notice an extreme fastness with regard to calculation speeds, I'm not convinced of the SAS OnDemand host properties, but I'm pretty sure it is about a Intel Xeon with high power memory resources, which compared to my Intel i7 and limited memory is way faster for numerical calculations and related topics, thereby even if I get it installed in my local machine still will be pretty slow, I encourage you to find the inverse of a 1000x1000 matrix using IML in SAS OnDemand, to make the story short the answer is 1-3 seconds, if I try so in my laptop I could get some sleep and by the time I be back am sure it still won't make, so SAS OnDemand is really fast (also importing large files). I'm not a student but certainly work for research in an Academic Institution, Firstly, I don't know if your limit is 10MB but for me it is actually 1GB, in fact as far as I know it is the common maximun limit (1GB) of file size, Secondly, what I am trying to resolve it's not a matter of restrictions, but connection, and in the case of SAS UE through AWS, again, what would be the properties for FTP connection?. Thank you for your answer but still not enough for what am looking for.

You seem to be right, I search a little more before giving this up and accept that's the only method, it would be really great if there would be a simple way given that it would be as simple as drag and drop, you wouln't have to wait for your browser to load the files and you could do sas stuffs (with all ready stored data) at the same time you upload/download data, also there would be no need of logging into SAS onDemand homepage, wait for it to load SAS Studio and then transfer data, connection could be much easier etc.., But anyhow SAS on Demand is already great, this is only a whim. I truly thank you so much for your replies.

Yes, Well there shoud be a way of doing this for non instructor users, the link was only to communicate the purpose not as a general reference or something to assume is the only way
