I am seeing these connections on the Compute server and the environment that im using does not have any users currently in it (staging) but we are running data loads via odbc using DI Studio. I would imaging a reboot would take care of most of them but knowing the reason they are they are persistent would make me feel better ... View more

I find it disturbing that i have 153 prostgres connections using on average 2,644 k of memory per connection running at the moment. This is a waste of resources in my opinion and there seems to be no recycling of these connections.     ... View more

WIP database from SAS or SAS/ACCESS to ODBC (SQLServer) I am guessing.   We do not have any PostdreSQL in house so it would be all native to SAS.   I see the conections via OS task manager.   It could be connections for multithreaded application but the list never shrinks so processes leave either orphans or never close. ... Anyone have issues with conections left open? When a process failes there are left over process still active from time to time that you cant match to the corresponding folder in the work folder. However there a ton of posgreSqlServer processes that are left running that i can not identify thier source and if they are orphaned processes.   I am hoping someone can share how they deal with these orphaned connections.   thanks, Lane ... Right now the depot is for both Server and clinet installs since our client base is so small right now being that we are in development. There could be a licensing issue but after the install you can change the license file to accomodate this. I like the idea of a single software depot for ease of managment and singe source when it comes to dev, testing and migration into prod. I havent heard any reason to not have it this way so far but i thought i would poll people who have more experience than myself. ... View more

I am looking for some advice on best practices for deploying software.   Do you use one software depot and all environments point to that depot or do you download one per environment?   For most deployments of other software packages its all in one executable but with SAS the depot is 75 gigs which is alot more files.   What options do people use? ... I need to create a process that creates a file daily and outputs it to a file system to be consumed by another process. The file name must be in the format filename_timestamp and the data source is table in some sql server database. Being new to DI Studio my assumption that it would be a customer stored process that would; 1. Create the file 2. select from the table 3. write to file I have figured out how to write to a file without issue but  i need to pre define and create the file manually before i run the job.
