insert value in a table with prompt

I would like the following to happen: When I run my SAS project, I want to see a pop-up where I can fill in a reference date, a start date and an end date. And I want those three values to occur in a table like this:      REF                BEGIN           END 1 01/02/2018     02/02/2018     20/02/2018   Is this possible?   I made three tables with all dates between 1996 and today on which I used my prompt but I don't think this the right way...   Thanks in advance       ... Thank you very much for your reply. It helped a lot! For the SUBTY variable: it remains constant throughout the whole dataset The date variables are indeed SAS date values.   Just one more thing. I noticed that I also have PERNRs who have some dates that are consecutive than a 'standalone' period and then again some consecutive dates as you can see in the picture above (PERNR 09625800) For that PERNR my output should be: 09625800   0001   01JUN2012   31OCT2012  5210 09625800   0001   17JUN2013   31OCT2013  5210 09625800   0001   01JUL2014    30SEP2014  5210 09625800   0001   01JUL2015    24JAN2016  5210 instead of: 09625800   0001   01JUN2012    24JAN2016 5210 In general: I can't 'lose' any dates in my output 😉 Sorry if it wasn't very clear   ... Above is an extract of the data I need to work with. When the same PERNR has consecutive periods with the same ZH2RCRM1 code, I want all that information in just 1 line. For example PERNR 01687600 has 3 consecutive periods with the same ZH2RCRM1 code (5210). What I want is to turn those 3 records into one: 01687600     0001     13OCT2014    31DEC9999   5210 I just started in SAS so I have no idea of doing this. Thanks in advance! ... View more

Hey I’m a bit struggeling with this one. I have a list in sas that shows periods of illness. It is sorted by name and startdate (BEGDA) NAME BEGDA ENDDA ILL Jones 2/11/2015 2/16/2015 Y Jones 3/7/2015 3/12/2015 Y Fields 11/5/2017 12/23/2017 Y Fields 1/1/2018 1/14/2018 Y Smith 3/12/2014 5/12/2014 Y Smith 5/15/2014 5/17/2014 Y Smith 7/20/2016 7/27/2016 Y .... .... .... I need to find a way to add a line per individual with the missing period(=the period between two illnesses). For Jones this should be the output: NAME BEGDA ENDDA ILL Jones 2/11/2015 2/16/2015 Y Jones 2/17/2015 3/6/2015 N Jones 3/7/2015 3/12/2015 Y Is there a way to code this into a program or something like that.
