Hi All, The solutions of the community have always helped me and saved lot of time too. Here I am again with another problem. It is looking very simple but I am not able to do it by simple program. My input is as follows 1 A 1 A 1 B 2 A 2 A 2 A 2 B 2 B 3 A 3 B 3 C 3 C 3 C 3 C 4 D 4 D 4 E 5 A 5 B 5 C and I am looking for output where I get unique values of sub-group as follows 1 A 1 B 2 A 2 B 3 A 3 B 3 C 4 D 4 E 5 A 5 B 5 C Thanks in advance !

@Ksharp I might sound weird but is there a way to convert categorical data to continuous data ?

OK. If I convert my data to categorical as most of it is categorical then how can I cluster them, given that its large dataset.

Before Fastclus I tried distance and cluster but since I have large dataset (10000000 records) and I got error that it can not be used on such large data. Is there any other way ?

Hi, I am trying to do segmentation using fastclus procedure but most of the data points fall into just one cluster. My input is a utility matrix that I created by customer purchase history and customer's demographic data. Could anybody please tell me whats wrong... @PG Stats@PG Stats Thanks for the prompt reply. I have written a program based on your program where I am not calculating Time Difference also. My Data set is around 15000000 records and program is running from last 2 hours, normally does it take this much time ?

@Ksharp SNo is the group name/number which is constant and will not change, P are the products bought by SNo, now H is whther they liked the product or not. H=1 means they did not like the product so I want to delete that product but at the same time I want to keep the record of number of products they did not like, so I am incrementing H. H in the input is whther they like P or not and H in output is how many P`s they did not like.

Also, the name of the variable 'H' does not matter in the output, if its easier to have it with new name, then also its fine.

@Ksharp Actually F is 'Frequency', If there will be one more record of number '1234' then it will be like Number F Count Name 1234 3 1 OBC 1234 3 2 WWF 1234 3 3 ABC and in the output I would expect this record because 'WWF' existing at count = 2. I need all the records of the group by Number where Name is 'WWF' with count=>2. Thanks for all your support.

Number F Count Name 1234 2 1 OBC 1234 2 2 WWF 3456 3 1 ABC 3456 3 2 DEF 3456 3 3 WWF I wrote the following codes data test; set want; by Number; if count >=2 and Name = 'AWF'; run; However with this I am not getting whole group in output rather I am getting only the records that are matching the given criteria. Please guide.

I have a DOB variable as follows and I want to compute age from this variable DOB 16JUL51:00:00:00 24NOV33:00:00:00 07MAY45:00:00:00 I think INTCK can not be used in this case. I tried age = '24AUG16:00:00:00'd-DOB; but its giving me some wierd numbers. Experts I need your help !

Number Date 1234 12-Sep- 15 1234 12-Jan-16 1234 12-Jan-16 1234 12-Jan-16 2254 12-Sep-15 2254 13-Sep-15 2235 13-Sep-15 2510 13-Sep-15 2510 13-Sep-15 I have sorted the data by using sort number, date and now I want to insert a new column called counter as below Number Date Counter 1234 12-Sep-15 1 1234 12-Jan-16 2 1234 12-Jan-16 2 1234 12-Jan-16 2 2254 12-Sep-15 1 2254 13-Sep-15 2 2235 13-Sep-15 1 2510 13-Sep-15 1 2510 13-Sep-15 1 This counter gives the number of dates for particular group of numbers. Example in the first group namely '1234' has two dates so counter is 1 for first date and 2 for second date irrespective of its number of occurences. After adding this column, I also want to see the statistics of this new column called 'counter' like maximum value, average value etc., if there is some predefined procedure for the same, I will be grateful for knowledge sharing.
