Hi Bruno_sas and all, I tried to look up for the XAXISTABLE to add information to the x-axis and I wasn't abe to get any. (1) I need to add the total number of people represented in each category on the x-axis in parentheses. (2) Also, how do I change the layout to landscapeso so I can add the 'N' below each x-axis category as the chart is wide and the category labels are all slanting. (3) I also want to rename the legend lables and the x-axis category labels. (4) Is there a way to get rid of the box boder of the chart. I tried looking in options and was unable to locate the same. Please advise. Thanks @BrunoMueller. I got the chart I needed. However, I realized I had it the other way round in the excel sheet. i.e I needed the time_period on the x-axis. I made the necessary changes to the code. So thats the reason I need the 'Total' for each time_period displayed below the label in parentheses. I will check out the XAXISTABLE for it. Also, how can change the name of the labels on the x-axis and legend? Do I have to accomplish it by renaming before the array or is there a way to accomplish it on proc sgplot? Any leads would be helpful as time is short. Thanks and for the tip on attaching the charts.

Yes, the numbers do not add up to 100% because it excludes the 'missing' category during calculations.

@BrunoMueller, thanks I will try it. Also,the 'total' variable is the number of people in the time_period that needs to displayed on the x-axis under each clustered bars for its respective time_period. I was unable to coy-paste the chart on the post. For some reason it didn't allow me to do it. So i attached an excel sheet for the same. Are you able to open it? Please let me know.

Hi, I am a beginner at SAS/GRAPH and I need to create a clustered bar graph. Below is the data. I have been looking at codes, but I am not able to understand how to represent the below values in the code. I was looking at proc sgplot. Time_periods Total A B C D Time_one 4304 68.61 83.02 53.72 32.99 Time_two 75743 61.16 83.02 56.86 30.30 Time_three 8965 64.08 86.79 58.39 25.41 Time_four 4824 65.78 86.53 57.36 28.86 I am not able to copy-paste the chart from excel, so I have a document for reference to the figure. I basically need the intervals on the x-axis and the variables A, B, C and D represented in each time_periods. The y-axis is upto value of 100%. The values in A, B, C and D are in percents. I need these color coded. I also need the totals provided by the variable 'Total' displayed below each interval. Please advise as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi, I used an array to convert the numeric variables to character variables. None of the numeric variables had any formats associated with it but all had a length of 8. The value for non-missing numeric values was 1 and the value of missing numeric values was a period. I applied the character fomat $40. as I need to reformat the values later. However, after conversion of the numeric to character the missing values are being retained as periods and not blanks. Is there a way to have them as blanks after the conversion? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks. Thanks @TomKari. That was helpful to know the number of intervals. However, I got the solution I was looking for on the same post in the SAS data management group. I explained the concern clearly in that post.

Yes, thats right. The intervals can range from 1 to 8 and the final_date determines the last interval. . I have to define these intervals for each id in the dataset. The interval periods are for 4 months. so for example here are the dates for id 1 and 2: id Begin_date Final_date 1 2010-10-04 2011-04-04 2 2010-03-01 2011-11-02 . So I need to create 4 month intervals between these 2 date variables and stop creating them when I reach the final_date, where the final_date is within the last interval i.e final_date is less than the last interval 'end_date' or it could be the 'end-date' of the last interval. I need to do this for each id. Can this be done automatically using arrays or other date options?

Thanks for your reply Reeza and the correction on the datastep. But there is more to this. I probablly didn't do a good job explaining. The final_date keeps diffreing for each id. I need to know of a way where I can stop creating intervals for each id until I reach the final_date. There is a possibility that the final_date could be in the 4th interval or the 5th interval. How can I automatically create 4 month intervals until the final_date is reached or in other words in within the last inerval period of that id? My intention is to calculate the avearge event_value for each id in each of its intervals by event_number. I hope this explains my concern well. I porbably may not need the last if, then else statements too. Please let me know your ideas on this.

I think I got what you are enquiring the final_date differs for all ids so the number of 4-month intervals are different for each id.

For some reason Reeza I am not receiving emails to notify me when there is reply. Also, I actually made an error in my code. The interval period is for 4 months. But yes, the interval of 4 months is the same for all ids. I hope I an understanding your question correctly. i.e for ids, 4-month intervals are determined between the begin_date and final_date.

Actually, I have an additon to my original question. I have to calculate the average values of the 'event_value' by 'event_number' in the dataset for all interval periods until the interval period that contains the final_date. So what would be the best way to go about determining the interval periods and calculating the aaverage 'event_value' by 'event_number' for each interval.? I hope I am making sense here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
