I did add xlsx. the same error message appeared then I reomve 1.2 sheet name, it is same maybe because recently I changed the template? I want to have 56,789 in steadd of 56789. I want the percentage rate be 7.8% instead of 7.833%. Otherwise, I do not know why suddenly this error message appeared any other advice?

It is either not an Excel spreadsheet or it is damaged. Error code=80001019 Requested Output File is Invalid ERROR: Export unsuccessful. See SAS Log for details. My question is, why it automatically add $$! to the name of excel file? I checked the folder and did find the file with this strange name. However, it cannot be opened. ANy suggestions why this happened? I want to create an excel file.

my computer cannot access the link you provided. I used your code, but still I cannot generate a desired file. yes, base sas when i was writing code, and copying and pasting, i just realized the file was lost, it opened a new file

It happened several times. I just used copy and paste, while I was working on a file that I had been modifying for long time. The new file was created (a new one, without a name), but my orginal file was closed. I opened the original file again, it was the old version, saved yesterday, not the current version. Any idea why this happened? how to find the most updated version of my sas file? Thanks.

Thank you. I read your posts several times. I have to piece your two posts together. To a certain degree, I am confused. My sas got busy when I put those four datasets together. That slows down the process. Would you please put your two posts together so that I can see how it is? Thanks.

Thanks. I have devloped code previously, without macro; but I am interested in sas macro. Thus I wrote my macro code, it works. I am not very satified with the current code and think it can be improved. I hope to get advice from you how to make it more concise and be more efficient. Then, go back to your post. I just do not know how to use INDSNAME option. My problem is, I want to have sas code to compare the frequency of those variables "wvr_" and list it in that order by frequency. Thanks. I still do not get where "source", from your code below, is from, and how I should replace it. I understand there are two options, one is macro code, that I will be working on, and this solution as well. I do not know what 'source' means in your code, this is why I provided my sample dataset. I do not understand how to use "indsname" and I do not know where 'source' is from. that is hard for me to learn. That is my question. I have four simiar datasets. I need to generate four tables, regarding the frequency order of these variables. I provided one sample dataset. My question is how to use macro so that i need not replace them repeatedly. please see my original post below I have four datasets, child, adult, senior and over100, each one has over 10000 obs. the orginal code is very simple proc sort data=bpchild; by id; run; PROC means DATA= bpchild; var wvr_:; run; proc contents data= bpchild; run; I just need to replace child with adult, senior, over100. would anybody teach me how to use macro do this?
