Have you investigated the SAS Microsoft Office integration tools?  Business users can access SAS data from within Excel and other Office applications. Another option is/(was?) the SAS Data viewer - a free Windows application which can be used to query sas data.  It's a bit clunky and I don't think it has seen much development since Version 8 but it is free. The problem with the sasautos option is that it must be invoked when SAS is started.  This means that a user who does not include the option when they start SAS must find some other way to compile the macros.  It can be very confusing if you are trying to debug someone else's program that works perfectly for them because their code may not include any reference to where the macros are located.  So I would only advocate use of sasautos under very tight controls where all users have it activated and the directories are read only (because one user's mod of a macro would require integration testing of all other SAS code which might make use of the macro). Actually , I am joing two tables with 'key' varible. The key varible in one table it is numeric and in another it's charecter. You can join 2 tables in SAS using keys as you describe quite easily.  If table A has numeric kesy and B has text values then Proc SQL ;      Create table want as           Select A.---                ,    B.---           From A A                ,    B B           Where a.key1 = input(B.key2, Best32.)      ; Quit ; If you want to do the join in Oracle you can use Tom's code to achive the same result, using a character comparison. As i understand it you want the s100+s110 rows to be excluded from the total but included in the position indicated in the final table.  I don't think Tabulate is the answer.  Proc Report might work. I would introduce a group variable, ="A" for all the rows you want included in the total, ="B" otherwise, and use that as a class variable in proc summary with descending.  Then throw away the sum values for "B" and overall, transpose the output, and order the columns as you want.
