Art; The data set essentially imports two variables, the NS (Nursing Station) and the count. This comes from a frequency output set; The values created here are: the pagex that is used for the table of contents, the pageurl that is used later as links, and the pager var that I am attempting to use as a way to correctly delegate the correct pagex variable depending on the number of records.  the Sorry for the wonky code in terms of display, this is a cut and paste issue. In short, what I am attempting to do is to retain values of the pagex and pager so that in the case of 10CVT above, it should start on page 2, and since it has 37 records, the next record 10ICC should start on page 4. SInce that unit only has 7 records, 11 NEURO ICU should be on pg 6, etc etc. I hope this makes any sense Art as my head is now spinning as I am sure you can understand. and yes the values are not matching, and that is the problem. Hi all; I have a question on the retain statement. What I am attempting to do is essentially create a table of contents. Depending on the count, it will dictate the number of pages so that if the count<=24 then one page, 24<=48 2 pages and what not. What happens is that it seems to correctly calculate the page number for the first couple of lines and then it doesn't. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated-Example of the output and the code follows below. It works for the first 4 entries. Much obliged. Cynthia; Talking with tech support def gives rise that this may be a problem with my stsem somewhere as they had no issue either. I'll simply try at home and see what happens there as well and see if that make a difference. It makes no sense at all. In the interim, I will continue w/ the "boxes" until I get to the bottom of this. And yes I stand corrected or rather I amend the statement of "seem to work for HTML output but not for RTF" to "seem to work for HTML output but not for RTF on my system. Thanks again for your help. Cynthia; The parameters of rules=none frame=void cellspacing=0 seem to work for HTML output but not for RTF. I am sure that I can set the parameters in a template somewhere? The journal template did not want to play ball either with RTF outputs.. Lawrence ... View more

Cynthia- Thank you that works! However that leads to 2 more questions- How can I get rid of that "box" around the variable AND is there is a way to change the paramter of how much space follows after a report- I am "stacking" proc reports that will be exported onto a RTF document. Hello all- I am seeking to get all the table names from a SQL database. Hi all- I know you can use the calculated statement in where statements, but what about joins? Unfortunately someone added a zero in a column that I strip out but when I attempt a join as A Left join B on CALCULATED ENC=b.ENCTR where ENC is the new column and b.ENCTR is an original column, it throws back an error... Amar; Your solution works very well! However I did run into one hiccup. I then had to add the unit to the variables and it works 98% of the time but it has the power to skip a unit, below is actual data (with visit # changed). Your program worked perfectly even not including the unit but when it came to line 5 (see the x next to it) this unit/bed was omitted. Also one last level of complexity-the visit no was not included. This will also be integral as there are multiple visit numbers. I should have included a better example. Any additional info/assistance you can provide would be great!
