Hello SAS Community:

Just wanted to ask about the chi-square dF computed from PROC CALIS fitness statistics (Fit Summary Table). I run a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with 7 observed items and 2 latent factors. I fixed all latent factor variances to 1.00. My Fit Summary Table yields a chi-square value of 18.52; dF=13, and a p-value of 0.1387. My question is: how is the number of dF calculated? I ask as I am unable to reconcile this (i.e., dF=13) with the formula: [p(p+1)]- [#error variance + #of factor loadings estimated + #latent factor covariances]. Thanks!

Marc

What is ANOVA?

ANOVA, or Analysis Of Variance, is used to compare the averages or means of two or more populations to better understand how they differ. Watch this tutorial for more.
