Here’s what you’ll learn about in the Rundown

SAS Conversation Designer

With the new enhancements to SAS Conversation Designer, you can now improve and automate conversational experiences through proactive prompts and user reminders to respond to an unanswered question. Sometimes we all need a little extra nudge when interacting with chat. Now, you can also help guide the dialogue flow with easy yes/no buttons.

SAS Model Manager

This month we are introducing two new exciting capabilities in SAS Model Manager that make it more open-friendly and easier to use:

  • Use the GUI to easily deploy Python models over to Azure ML. You can now call and use the model in PowerApps, Dynamics 365 and other Microsoft tools.
  • Get help from the new homepage where you can now access What’s New content, how-to videos, blogs, and documentation directly from the Model Manager interface.

SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning

Are you looking to maximize the overall long-term reward achieved by a complex sequence of decisions? Then check out Reinforcement Learning (RL) in this release of SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning.

RL has famously been used to learn to play games such as checkers, backgammon, Othello, and most recently land a lunar-lander in OpenAIGYM.  SAS can now use real time data to train a Deep-Q Network where previously only a historical (or batch) data set could be used. Not just for fun and games anymore, RL can be used in robotics, process control, health care, trading, finance and much more.

Python users rejoice... as you are now one step closer to operationalizing your analytics models for the real world! In SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning, Python models can now be packaged and registered in Model Studio to take full advantage of model management, thus streamlining model governance, monitoring, and deployment.

SAS Visual Text Analytics

If you analyze text data in multiple languages, you’ll be excited to hear that this month, we’re introducing a new capability in SAS Visual Text Analytics that helps you identify and group languages within a set of documents containing multiple languages for faster, more accurate contextual analysis. For example, a business analyst focused on social listening for a brand can now identify and group social media tweets from around the world by language for further analysis.

SAS Visual Analytics

Our customers love Automated Explanation and Automated Prediction capabilities in SAS Visual Analytics to help users better understand and automate the discovery process. Customers have asked for these augmented analytic capabilities in more languages, so we’ve added several new languages over the last couple releases: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Thai, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese.

Also new this month, you can increase productivity and style consistency across your SAS Visual Analytics reports by creating custom page templates. Page templates can be saved with or without data.

Release Talk with Senior Product Manager, Kumar Thangamuthu:

And, last but definitely not least, we debut SAS Information Governance in SAS Viya 2020.1.3, an intuitive self-service data portal to analytics and AI. Data and business users can search and discover cataloged data assets across the organization from multiple data sources. You can explore data assets for quality and fitness of the data before approving for downstream processing.

You can also further prepare data, create reports or build models by navigating from the cataloged data to other SAS Viya applications to continue your analytics journey.  Learn more about SAS Information Governance.
