Renaming Data in VA

Is there a way to rename data categories once they are imported into VA? I am using the Cross tab graph so I have some sub datasets and can't figure out how to rename the sub data, only the top category names. 

Also, if this is possible, when the renaming is done does that stay even if the data source is refresh?

When u import the datasource.. at that time is it not possible to rename the variables; once u have renamed then use them in ur analysis objects... if you save this report i guess it won't change even if the data source is refreshed.
