Hi Experts,
I have a measure column "Cost", where i need to apply two user defined format (e.g. using (,) as decimal separator instead of dot (.) and also want append "kr" or ",-"at the end ofoc cost value)
e.g: 100.58 should be represnted as 100,58
e.g: 100.00 should be represented as 100 kr or 100,-
I am trying to use a pricture format to apply these formats.
The formats have been applied coorectly in the table and the underlying data is numeric.
But unfortunately once the data is uploaded in in SAS VA, the column appear as user-defined format category data item.
This is happering me from using this data item in bar chart, as i need this column as user-defined format measure.
Any suggestions?
Regards
Arpan
Hi Arpan,
When you say the formats have been applied correctly in the table - how are you testing this? Are you using Enterprise Guide and the same workspace server that is used for SAS Visual Analytics?
You need to install the user-defined format on your SAS Visual Analytics application server as outlined in this usage note? http://support.sas.com/kb/47/100.html Has this been done?
Kind Regards,
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for the information.
My requirement is for a measure item applied with user-defined format.
But i guess,
numeric data items with a user-defined format are classified as categories. You cannot change these data items to measures while the user-defined format is applied.
As mentioned in the link:

Hi Arpan,
From the note it appears that is the case... I assume you are using SAS Visual Analytics 7.1?
Maybe someone from SAS can verify whether this is still the case in SAS Visual Analytics 7.1 and beyond.
Kind Regards,
Michelle
