I’m trying to automate the reload of all data into memory after a restart.

The autoloader takes care of its own data but I can’t find a way to auto load the queries.

Many websites suggested scheduling the query on daily base but this seems a bit overkill when I only need to reload after a restart.

(using SAS VA 7.2)

Is there a way to auto run queries after a startup? (Without scheduling it for a daily run)

Hi @Jensy,

the good way would be to use the VA system options as described on https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Visual-Analytics/Auto-start-up-of-LASR-server-after-system-reboot...

But some people find it confussing and it does not work inmediately for them. If this is your case, I would go for a more traditional way, and not spend much time on it:

for that, first you need to ensure your LASR server starts after a server reboot, as explained on: http://www.sas.com/offices/europe/uk/support/sas-hints-tips/lasr-server-va.html

Afterwards, and after ensuring the LASR is up and running, you need to schedule your query scripts run after the reboot.

Bot the Start LASR and LoadData scripts can be scheduled on Linux and windows as:

Linux (cron, at): http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/57852/crontab-job-start-1-min-after-reboot

Windows (Windows Scheduler): http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/how-can-i-set-up-a-task-in-ta...

I hope this might help a bit!

Best regards,

Juan

So I can either use the Reload-on-start function to run the queries on startup (if I manage to configure it) or schedule the queries in windows? Correct me if I got this wrong.

I would just go for the second option (schedule the queries and the StartLASR)if you ask me. It is the one I can ensure it works always.
