The Departure - The Rise Of Global Temperatures
The rise of global temperatures compared to the period 1950-1980 - is at its highest level ever. According to Global Climate in 2015–2019, a report by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the five-year period of 2015-19 has been the worst in terms of global warming and resultant climate change impacts.
Using SAS Visual Analytics - an infographic has been created not only showing the distribution of the 25,000 weather stations around the globe but also visualizing the temperature changes in different parts of the world. Special geographical maps showing the affect on US county level or differences in latitude zones have been included.
There is also a Making of video showing how parts of the report were built and how the author added elements to the canvas to compile the final infographic. SAS Visual Analytics report design was built using SAS Viya and SAS Visual Analytics.
