NEW FEATURES in Dynamic Actuarial Modeling
Check out these new features and what they mean for you.
Performance Improvement in Ratemaking node
CNTSELECT Procedure (Frequency models)
Improvements have been made in performance and numerical stability. The performance improvements are negligible for small data sets, but they can be significant for very large data sets; for example, fitting a Poisson regression in a data set of 800,000 observations can be up to two times faster, depending on your server setup. Parameter estimates can be slightly different from those in previous versions, especially in numerically unstable model fits, such as when a parameter is estimated to be close to its boundary.
For Frequency models with more than 80000 rows, the performance has improved significantly.

In-Solution Backtesting and Model Access
Users can now complete the following tasks directly within the solution:
Perform Backtesting
Open Models for Optimization
Open Models for Pricing
This removes the need to navigate outside the solution for these key actuarial and modeling activities.
Coefficient Smoothing in Ratebook Editing
When editing Ratebooks with class or grouped variables that contain multiple coefficients, a new Smooth Coefficient option is available below the bar chart. This allows users to apply smoothing to coefficients relative to a selected Ratebook variable, improving rate stability and interpretability.
Exposure Role Selection During Model Creation
Model creation has been enhanced with the ability to select the appropriate exposure role. This ensures exposure data is handled correctly throughout the modeling process, improving accuracy and consistency.
Embedded Interfaces in Cirrus
Embedded SAS Studio
This release introduces embedded SAS Studio, which allows administrators to configure the solution so that SAS Studio opens within the SAS Dynamic Actuarial Modeling interface using an iframe. This provides a seamless user experience by eliminating the need to leave the solution to access SAS Studio. The feature can be enabled or disabled via configuration properties.
Embedded SAS Decision Manager
The release also adds embedded SAS Decision Manager, enabling SAS Intelligent Decisioning to be launched directly inside the solution via an iframe. This integration streamlines workflows for users working with decisioning assets. Administrators can control availability through configuration settings.
