  1. The data set ONE on the next page shows consumer-report ratings (1-10 scale) on three aspects of each of seven makes of automobiles. Category=1 corresponds to a Dependability rating, category=2 to a Visual Appeal rating, and category=3 to a Performance rating.  The seven makes of automobiles, in order, are FORD, NISSAN, MAZDA, SAAB, SATURN, HONDA, and TOYOTA.  Write a SAS program to input the data and rearrange it to look like the second table (“FINAL”) below.  You must do this in such a way that the program will work regardless of what numbers (between 1 and 10) occur in each Rating category.  You may need more than one DATA or similar data-rearrangement step.

Really?

1.Don't ask us to do your homework.

2.Try and ask question (providing code) if something unexpected comes.

3.Avoid MS office documents.

And where pray tell does the Make information come from?

Are you implying that Obs 1, 8 and 15 come from the same make? If so which one? Your starting data description is incomplete. And without explicit directions on where to find Make information likely going to teach very bad habits about constructing data.

I know I can put together a data set if proper descriptions are included but I suggest that whoever provided the "not a data set ONE" should be whipped with wet spaghetti noodles. Relying on a not stated order and number of responses to align data is asking for failed processes.

For instance what if the set one had 19 or 22 obs in it? What would the result look like?
