Is your problem with the lines of code being too long?
Lines of code should never be longer than about 70-80 bytes. Otherwise they are difficult for humans to read.
What do you mean by truncated "records"? What are the means supposed to be appended to? The means of what?
That comment makes it sound like it is not the length of the code that is the issue, but instead either the length of one (or more) of the variables in dataset you are using to store the results of whatever the code does.
