run;

proc export data=have

outfile="\server\t_DATA_HIST.xlsb"

dbms=excelcs replace;

server= 'saspcff';

run;

I keep getting

ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] Failure creating file.

ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.

Is there special syntax that xlsb uses vs  xls and xlsx ????

If you just want an xlsb file saved on the server you can use: proc export outfile="\server\t_DATA_HIST.xlsb" data = have replace DBMS=xls; run; Note that you get an error in your last datelines observation.
