Greetings, fellow coders!

I’m presenting a live “Ask the Expert” webinar on June 27th, 11 AM – Noon ET entitled Accessing Database Data in SAS® Viya®. I’ll cover how you can use your familiar SAS®9 programming techniques to get the same results from the SAS Viya compute server. Next, I’ll show how to use Viya’s Cloud analytic Services (CAS) to process database data faster than ever, and I’ll host a live Q&A session to wrap things up. The presentation demos will be using SAS Viya Long-Term Support 2023.03, but the Viya material is good for all Viya versions, and you’ll find a few tidbits for SAS 9 programmers in there as well. So, don your thinking cap, bring your questions, and join me to see just how easy it is to be fast in CAS!

You will learn:

  • The key differences between the Viya compute server and CAS, and when to use each.
  • Tips for accelerating database data processing in SAS®9 and on the Viya compute server.
  • The practical differences between traditional SAS libraries and caslibs.
  • How to work with database-backed caslibs in CAS.

Don’t forget to reserve your spot for the webinar!

Want more tips? Be sure to subscribe to the Ask the Expert board to receive follow up Q&A, slides and recordings from this and other SAS Ask the Expert webinars.

I hope to see you there, but if you can't join me live, that’s OK. You can always view Ask the Expert sessions on-demand here. So, until we meet in cyberspace, may the SAS be with you!
