I am trying to extract a date variable(eg. 12Jul19) from a variable that date and time (eg. 12Jul19:12:34:00).

I have tried this code but it is not working .

DATA Mydata2;
SET Mydata;
date = MDY(Arrival);
RUN;

 

I sincerely appreciate your help.

  SET Mydata;
  date = datepart(Arrival);
  format date date9.;
RUN;
