How to exclude a specific date?

Hello,

I am trying to exclude all people born before 3/1/2003 in a variable 'dob'. dob is the format of ''mmddyy10.'' I am also trying to exclude all people born after 3/31/2009 in the same variable 'dob'.

Please advise, thank you.

Assuming your DOB variable is indeed a SAS date either of these should work:

where '01Mar2003'd <= dob <= '31Mar2009'd;

where dob between '01Mar2003'd and '31Mar2009'd;
