Default Collapsed Filters in Visual Investigator

Hi,

When opening the Filters pane in SAS VI, all facets are expanded by default, which makes the screen look cluttered when there are many filters. It would be great to have an option to set them collapsed by default, so users only see the filter names and can expand them if needed. This would make the interface cleaner and easier to navigate.

Just to clarify, in the current experience filter facets are typically collapsed by default when opening the Filters pane.

Could you confirm the specific area or scenario where you’re seeing all filters expanded?

In my environment the default behavior is different, the filters are expanded (open) by default.

I would like them to be collapsed by default, similar to what you described.

In Visual Investigator, it is expected that filters are expanded by default in Object Manager. However, in the Search / Investigate Filters pane, facets are typically collapsed on initial load.

Based on your description, this sounds closer to Object Manager behavior, but can you confirm which area you’re referring to (Object Manager vs the Search Filters pane)?

I’d like to clarify that I was referring specifically to Object Manager filters.

I’d also like to suggest adding an option for the manager/administrator to choose whether Object Manager filters should be expanded or collapsed by default.

This would really help in environments with many filters and improve overall usability.
