accessing standby database

I am trying to access standby database

proc sql
create table xyz as select * from connection to oledb
( provider= "dd" properties=("user id" passwprd ...)
(select.....)
from dddd
left join x on ...
..
disconnect from oledb;
quit;
I am getting errors states: having read only access
any ideas to solve this problem
can creating view help? or any other alternative.

A complete log would help, and a definition on what a "standby" database is.
