Hello there,

I have a question. I have never experienced that before. I am running a proc contents on a data saved in a library SAS enterprise guide 7.1. Although the data file exists, there is a message saying ERROR: File STUDATA.SDFDATA17.DATA does not exist. Any inputs?

%Let Qdrive=\\dcwdfap002\rp;
libname studata "&Qdrive.\\Ps\Lv\forensics\LA\S17EOC\RPU\Cyc";

options dkricond=nowarning;
proc contents data=studata.sdfdata17; run;

Thanks and regards

What makes you say "although the data file exists"?? Did you check? How? Be specific. Show us a screen capture.

In cases like this, where SAS says it's not there, I tend to believe SAS, and not the human users, since all humans make mistakes from time to time.

Is this really the right path to the folder?  The number of slashes looks suspicious:

\\dcwdfap002\rp\\Ps\Lv\forensics\LA\S17EOC\RPU\Cyc

What did the SAS log say about the LIBNAME statement?

SAS ignores duplicate slashes later on in the path, not sure why, but it definitely does sometimes.

 69         libname test '/folders//myfolders//';
 NOTE: Libref TEST was successfully assigned as follows:
       Engine:        V9
       Physical Name: /folders//myfolders
