This session introduces
SAS Quantum Lab, a new quantum capability planned to be surfaced in SAS Viya, designed to help organizations begin practical quantum exploration while quantum hardware and algorithms continue to mature. The speakers explain why quantum is drawing real investment interest—especially for complex optimization and machine learning problems—and why experimentation is currently expensive and iteration-heavy. To address key barriers (skills, cost, and proving value), SAS Quantum Lab includes a guided “tutor” experience and enables side‑by‑side comparison of classical, quantum, and hybrid approaches. A core set of capabilities (AutoQX) focuses on
parallelism, caching, and autotuning to reduce redundant runs and speed up experimentation—helping teams explore more problems with the same budget.
