Regeneron is currently upgrading from a SAS Grid installation running SAS 9 to SAS Viya on the cloud. One of the greatest challenges has been to create a new process for batch running programs. In the pharmaceutical world programs must be batch ran from top to bottom and saved to an individual log. There are multiple deliveries that contain hundreds of outputs that must be run independently and produce separate logs files. The current process relied on using the X command with a Linux script file to submit programs (combined with a delivery specific autoexec) in parallel, but this process is not available within SAS Viya.

This presentation walks through the cooperative process between Regeneron and SAS to explore Viya’s features to find the best replacement process for batch running many programs per submission standards.
