Use Case

Choosing the ideal plot of land for a home is one of life's most important and stressful decisions. The process is inherently complex, fraught with risk, and requires buyers to navigate a maze of information chaos. Key data is scattered across dozens of public and commercial sources, from geo-portals and zoning plans to land registries, and understanding and comparing it all is time-consuming and requires specialized knowledge.

Existing tools on the market focus on generating reports for a single, user-specified plot. They serve the purpose of verification, not discovery. They fail to answer every buyer's fundamental question: "Where do I even begin? Which of the hundreds of thousands of plots in the region best fit my unique needs?". Our project challenges this status quo.

  • Geospatial Analysis: QGIS  This was our hub for geospatial operations. In QGIS, we analyzed data acquired from OpenStreetMap and public sources, performing key spatial calculations such as distances and object densities.
  • Data Cleaning: Microsoft Excel  Data exported from QGIS underwent initial verification and cleaning. Excel allowed for the quick, manual removal of obvious errors, preparing the data for the next stage.
